Compensation: $128,000 - $150,000 (Relocation assistance available)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations for a designated business unit, from preconstruction through project closeout. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale plumbing and HVAC commercial projects, particularly within high-value environments such as hotels, high-rise office buildings, and hospitals. This role is pivotal to achieving business objectives and profitability targets through effective resource management, quality control, and a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Execution: Direct execution plans and manage daily work to meet business objectives, maximizing project profitability.
- Resource Allocation and Quality Assurance: Oversee Project Managers, General Superintendents, and Superintendents; allocate drafting resources and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Process Consistency and Productivity: Drive productivity improvements, enforce compliance, and standardize project management and field processes.
- Safety Management: Promote and enforce safety practices across teams, providing coaching on preventative measures.
- Project and Financial Oversight: Lead project review meetings, approve contract changes, and resolve cost-related issues.
- Customer Satisfaction: Maintain client satisfaction through effective management of project teams.
- Risk Management: Monitor and report on insurance certificates, safety concerns, and subcontractor bonds.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in heavy plumbing and HVAC commercial construction for projects valued at $20M+ (e.g., hotels, hospitals, high-rise buildings).
- Licensing: State plumbing license or 5+ years of experience as an Operations Manager in the commercial construction industry.
- Skills: Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing multiple ongoing projects. Excellent communication, multitasking capabilities, and attention to detail are essential.
- Preferred: Safety training experience across multiple states is advantageous.
